The issue at hand is that the Republicans are ecstatic that the McCain ticket has been sweetened by someone other than McCain. It makes no difference that Palin has no leadership skills or experience in running something other than a podunk Alaskan town (or mismanaging her position as Governor). The conservatives have found their candidate -- the person that they feel will inevitably replace Senator McCain as President when he falls ill. Palin has made Republican's political lives worth living once more -- someone that is both religious and close minded. Basically, Bush in a female's physique.
