Man using GPS drives into path of train in N.Y. suburb
The Associated Press reported earlier today about a man in a rental car who was using the built in GPS device...
The unit told him to turn right - so he followed directions and ended up on a train track. His car got stuck on the track and he realized a train was heading straight into him. Luckily, he got out of the car in time before his car was destroyed.
How stupid can this man be? How could you trust a GPS device over your own two eyes? He could have looked up to see that there was no road...just a couple of train tracks.
I really wish we had a built in GPS system in our car. I know they make the portable units, but I really want one built right into the dashboard! Do any of you have a GPS device??? How often do you use it?

I don't understand people. You always have to pay attention when using GPS. When they changed what time Daylight Savings switched, the timing for turns was off until it got worked out with the satellites/firmware.
Anyway, we had built-in in my PT Cruiser and Keiths' F150...they were good, and I miss it now that I have a RAV4 without GPS.
Keith has a itty bitty Garmin Nuvi 350 that is awesome. I like that better than the built in. Mostly because if I'm in Boston & wind up parking somewhere a few blocks away from my true destination, I can just pop it out & take it with.
