Pandemic Flu and the National Geographic Channel
Okay....maybe I am just a big dork!!!
But I am flipping out about the bird flu. I am watching a program on the National Geograhic Channel, and decided to go to http://www.pandemicflu.gov/ ...Our gov't has a website devoted to this!!!
What the site says:

Concerning the traditional flu, the cdc has a map showing where in the country the flu is bad...

You are a dork; and this is why the government doesn't tell us anything because of reacitons like yours. Also, your map is wrong. What you posted is a map of the winter seasonal flu, not the bird flu. If you follow your mapping on the left hand side of the site, the map is listed under "seasonal" flu, not avian or pandemic. http://www.cdc.gov/flu/weekly/usmap.htm You can calm down now. Everything is all right :o)
Silly Girl...I know the map is of the seasonal flu....and it is not the same as the avian bird flu.
Nonetheless, I need to be prepared ;)
Oh God! Pretty soon you are going to start freaking out when we have terror alert: orange. Get a grip! This is what politics thrives on: scaring the crap out of people. This mass chaos theory of bird flu is just that: theory. All of this fear is based on speculation that PERHAPS the bird flu may evolve into something that can be passed from human to human. Of course you probably don't believe in evolution anymore either. Devine intervention will save us! In the meantime, stay away from birds in Eastern Europe and you'll be ok. :)
Lar, I'm with you babe. We need to be prepared. This bird flu scares the bejesus out of me. I saw an episode of Oprah devoted to it and couldn't sleep for two days. I wanted to buy masks and duct tape my house. I'm glad I have someone who is equally freaked. Love ya!
