I think I am ill....The State of the Union Address
The state of the Union was today....
Not too exciting. No big surprises. 75% of the speech dealt with the war. I did like his ideas of spending more on AP classes in schools. Also - his idea of cutting "pork spending." Kind of shocking...because most of his republicans are GUILTY of it! I didn't like his excitement in cutting "needless programs." Of course, all of these "needless" programs help the poor of our country.
and then the democrats (my party) gets Gov. Tim Kaine to to the democratic response. He was clearly reading from a prompter...it sounded very s-l-o-w. Also...way too much god in his response...(Yes Kris...I know that it was intentional - but still bothersome)...No other dems were available to do it????
Who cares about the Gov. of Virginia. hummmmmmm.
"God Bless the United States of America....and f**k the president"
(*note to US Secret Service...When I said "F**k the president", this is not meant as a threat...I actually enjoy listening to the pres...he makes me laugh - but I do tend to disagree with a lot he has to say)

I noticed all the God references in the Governor's response, also, and I think it was more than intentional. In the last presdential election Evangelical Christians poured out in droves for Bush because he was religious. More importantly, his religiousness was believable (whereas John Kerry's religiousness was rather stiff and contrived). In order to win the hearts of the last bit needed to win a majority in Congress and replace Bushy with a Dem, there needs to be some vote stealing. We can't be the Godless Democrats who are so liberal its shocking if we want to bring the country back to our side of the aisle. Although its not right, its American politics at its best.
I don't know, I think we should go all out threat. Of course I mean that as a complete joke should someone of the US Secret Service be reading this.
It was a joke. I was sad to have his face on my TV for so long!
