Saginaw Mayors' Scholarship Ball

Last night we attended a $100 a plate ball hosted by the mayor of Saginaw. It was an award ceremony for 16 area high school seniors. They each received a $1000 scholarship.

We sat at the SVSU table. I was lucky to spend the evening sitting right next to State Senator Mike Goschka. He is a republican from Saginaw County. I spent a few hours chatting with him during the event. There were a lot of elected officials there giving out awards to the high school kids. For some reason, Mike was not invited to give any out. He left the dinner right before the award presentation. I did notice that all the presenters were democrats.....hum

I did get to met my US Congressman, Dale Kildee. I ran into him in the Mens room!!! He seemed like a very nice man. We chatted for a little while. He is much older than I envisioned! I hope he can still run again for office in the future!

It was an interesting night...
