Citibank Identity Theft

Everyone has seen the recent commericals by citibank about fradulant use of credit cards. Some of the commericals are extremely funny!!!

I never understood how they caught people using credit cards that were not theirs. Today I found out! This morning I got a call on my voice mail from "Citibank" about my charge card. It was a brittish man and he wanted me to call a 800 number to talk about my card. He said to have my card nearby. I thought it was a prank. I remember years ago when someone did that to my parents - and somehow they switched phone carriers. I did not call the man back - but I did log on to citibanks online access. On my main screen was a warning - that I should call citi fraud immediately.

I did - and people have been using my credit card. They asked if I charged $50 yesterday (he said it was a maunual entry - not swipped card) and I said no. He then asked if I charged $523 to an electrical contractor in Chicago. No again!

I will not have to pay for these and the account has been closed
